i just checked my Gmail.

Congratulations!!! YOU are the winner of the Skillet tickets AND a special meet & greet with Skillet at the Eugene, OR show on 5/7. Way to go on being an avid Skillet promoter! Without people like you, the band could not do what they do.

Awesome stuff, Timmy! Thanks.

So what you talk about with Skillet?

timmyrotter
05-08-2007, 05:54 PM
mostly about the radio, and promotions. John sounded pessimistic as i said, and i reassured him.

side note, it was like 100 degrees inside that small building with about 500 people in it, and incredibly humid. i was standing near the front, with my camera and i was drenched in sweat, from just standing. it was wort it though.

BarlowgIRL
05-08-2007, 05:56 PM
you just moved up in coolness status because of the spiffy fauxhawk!

Oo! Awesome pictures. I'm hopefully going to see them at the San Bernidino fair show and I'm gonna make a shirt for it. I'll probally use the one of John looking like he's talking to someone, if you'll let me that is.

So what exactly did you do to win? Like, what did you do to promote them?

timmyrotter
05-08-2007, 06:01 PM
^^^well if you look at my siggy the link for panheads, i did that. and anything else you see in the frying pan (radio numbers and such) requesting like crazy at radio stations, and just sharing SKillet with people. feel free to use my photos, you can credit me if you want, but if you dont, i wont sue you :).

the video of Ben's solo is awesome!

it was hard to breathe in there, and john was like 8 feet from me, and i have never seen anyone sweat so much in my life. it was literally flowing off him. thankfully im 6' 2'' so i could breathe a little easier and take better pictures.

barlow girl to answer your question completely i won 2 tickets and 15 meet and greet passes. but most of my group bailed so there was only 3 of us.

Paulishdog
05-08-2007, 09:07 PM
Were those bracelets you had the meet n' greet tickets? I should've said something... oh well. I got to talk with them afterwards, so it was all good.

My favorite part about the sweat was when he would flip his head and send a fine mist showering down around him...

DarkestRose
05-08-2007, 09:08 PM
John did look a bit like he was melting in some of the pictures. ;) I actually don't remember it being that hot yesterday. It was warm and breezy, kinda summery, so it was nice. Probably hot in the auditorium though.

yeah it was about 80 i think down there, but the room was small with tons of people, and no AC and shut doors.

Hey, Timmy, I've been meaning to ask you...what songs did they play? Like, did they just play songs off of Collide & Comatose or did they play some old ones too? And how long did they play?

Paulishdog
05-10-2007, 09:52 PM
I was there too...

Actually, I didn't keep track of time. But their set was (if I remember correctly):
Whispers in the Dark, Forsaken, Better than Drugs, Collide, My Obsession, The Last Night, Comatose, You're Powerful, The Older I Get, Yours to Hold, Rebirthing, Savior, and as an encore, Kill Me Heal Me.
I'm not sure I got the order right... but I'm pretty sure those are all the songs they did.

it was a decent set, they may have cut it a little short due to the heat. they played. not in this exact order.

Whispers
Rebirthing
Better than drugs
forasaken
my obsession
collide
comatose
the last night
the older i get
yours to hold
Your powerful?
they may have played 'you are my hope'
Savior
encore kill me
there may have been others...

Paulishdog
05-10-2007, 10:24 PM
Why did you ignore me? They played Kill Me Heal Me as their encore. Your Powerful was in the middle. And no, they did not play You are My Hope.

timmyrotter
05-10-2007, 10:36 PM
my encore is KILL ME, short for kill me heal me... :)

i was responding to Cara cause she posed the question, i didnt make my way down to yours yet.

lo siento

Thanks Paul & Timmy for your quick responses!! :D I'm seeing them this tuesday & I'm hoping they'll play a few more songs than they did at the CO show I went to two weeks ago. They only played about 10, & only one was from an album older than Collide (Best Kept Secret). I really want to hear Locked In A Cage!!

timmyrotter
05-10-2007, 11:21 PM
they wont play that... but good luck.

I'm sure Skillet still mixes it up for some shows. Once a band builds a large discography it's hard to play all the old ones especially when you're concentrating on your current album and promoting that.

The Lamma
05-12-2007, 11:46 AM
Collide isn't current. :P

I'd rather them make new music than re-record old stuff. Although there was mention of possibly re-recording Locked in a Cage and that'd be pretty cool. But new music is always a plus.

05-13-2007, 10:33 PM

Joelle
05-14-2007, 09:55 AM
hey i dont think they'd play locked in a cage because they probably don't practise it, so they wouldnt know it off by heart...that's what i think anyway. when i saw them in march, they played A LOT of songs..it was the longest skillet set i've ever been too.

BondageDuck
05-14-2007, 10:07 AM
Really, how long did they play? The last two shows I've been to they've only played like 10 songs. :( On the Collide tour they played like 20.

Joelle
05-14-2007, 11:44 AM
12 songs. the other times i've seen them they played 8 or 9 songs. it was like an hour and a half or something like that.
