i know a majourity of people on this site have heard at least Skillets two latest cd's(i believe) and i think they are the absolute BEST music from skillet. i got Comatose a few months ago and fell in love with, and a few days ago i got Collide, these two cd's have to be the best music i have ever heard from them. This thread is for people just to talk about their favourite song off these cd's or what-not about these cd's. i think Collide and Rebirthing are the best songs off of these cd's

you really need to check out alien youth....

05-18-2007, 01:31 PM
i've heard the song, but i haven't heard the cd so i can't say if i like it or not.

There are better songs on Alien Youth than the title track. I love all of Skillet's songs, including "Alien Youth" but the song's a little burnt on me after hearing it so often.

And yes, Collide and Comatose are awesome albums.

Glad that you've discovered the music that we've been enjoying over the years. :)

Invinsible is a good one also, its my favorite!

After going through all Skillet's albums a million times, I have to go with "Hey You..." as their strongest sounding album out of their older stuff, pre-Collide. I think that Collide and Comatose mark a new era if I may be so bold. It's tougher to compare the two newer albums with the older ones.

I prefer Comatose over Collide, though, as we're discussing them primarily in this thread.

collide had a raw feel, but comatose has more of a polished cleaner sound...both good in their own ways....

also, i was talking about the alien youth cd.

My favorite Skillet album is still "Hey You, I Love Your Soul" partly because I really enjoyed the electronic side of Skillet and I think the earlier albums have the strongest, most creative lyrics. Collide and Comatose are still solid albums though, don't get me wrong.

My favorite songs on Collide and Comatose? Collide, probably "Forsaken" and "Energy." And Comatose, "The Last Night" and "Falling Inside The Black."

I agree. I think Scarecrow displays some of Skillet's strongest lyrics because of all the metaphors and symbolism.

Collide is my favorite, only because a lot of the songs I can relate to my life and what I'm going through right now. But the other albums are great too.

I like Collide for a good solid hard rock album. I'm fond of the song Under My Skin because of the bridge. It has a sort of vulnerability and wonder to me.

I Bite

I think I like Invincible from the older cds(with my favorite song on that being Best Kept Secret)
I like Collide better than Comatose, I still love Comatose tho!
favorite songs?

A Little More [Collide, der] and The Older I Get[Comatose]

I really need to buy Collide. I heard Rebirthing on the radio and bought the cd the same day. Fell in love with Comatose in fact I'm listening to it right now. I've heard clips of collide though and from what I've heard Forsaken is the best but I'm going to buy the album.:)

05-22-2007, 07:22 AM
I like Collide better than Comatose because it sounds rougher and it's heavier. But Comatose isn't a bad album, I just think it's a little too polished.

05-22-2007, 07:25 AM
I like Collide more but I listen to Comatose more.

05-22-2007, 07:27 AM
I listent to Comatose more too simply because in the three year gap between albums I think I listened to Collide more than 10,000 times. :P

05-22-2007, 04:38 PM
Hahaha, overkill?

Bob, I agree with you about Collide.

I have a soft spot (lame pun?) for the rougher, grittier stuff, but I need to be in the mood to listen to it. I usually have Forsaken, Savior, and Fingernails on repeat if I do listen to that album.

05-23-2007, 01:04 PM
Well, both albums got a 10/10 from me, but to tell the truth, Collide was better IMO, simply because I like all of the songs on it. Favorites would be Energy, Open Wounds, and Savior. Comatose is great, but I still like Collide better. Favorites on Comatose-Whispers and Better than Drugs.

05-23-2007, 04:45 PM
I'm partial to hard rock so that's why I'm obligated to side with Collide.

05-24-2007, 12:21 PM
Well, both of those albums are masterpieces, but I myself like Collide more. Although as Bob said, during the last years I've listened Collide even more than a lot. So now I listen mostly to Comatose.
Out of the older albums I enjoy their worship album the most.

05-24-2007, 08:54 PM
i was recently listening to collide the other day, and i completely forgot how amazing that cd was. i honestly believe that comatose comes nothing close to it

05-25-2007, 06:46 PM
^thats pretty true...cmoatose does comapare but only slightly

06-10-2007, 06:20 PM
collide is probably my favorite... but that could be because its the CD that I first got and because I could relate to it so well. But I love their earlier stuff too. and comatose it awesome too. but yea I'm alot more of a collide fan.

06-10-2007, 06:32 PM
collide is probably one of the best cds i own to just blare in my car while's soooo good

06-27-2007, 07:32 AM
these are the only cds i have, and i just absolutly love them!!!

07-03-2007, 06:53 AM
well, I only have three albums (Collide, Comatose, Alien Youth)

but Collide is my favorite album. Then Comatose. Alien Youth was really good as well, but a bit too many ballads for my liking.

Collide is seriously one of the best albums I have ever listened to.

07-03-2007, 06:58 AM
When I saw Skillet at Creation they tore it up when they played My Obsession. I forgot how much I loved that song. :)

07-03-2007, 07:43 AM
comatose > collide

07-03-2007, 07:48 AM
Matter of opinion. :)

07-03-2007, 08:00 AM
yes it is:P

07-03-2007, 08:01 PM
I like Comatose better, just because , to me, it sounds like they are trying to reach out to non-christians, but not really in a, say, christanly manner. Some bands, like try to shove it down your throat, but on Comatose, they just want to let people know that there is somebody that is out there that REALLY cares and loves them no matter what they have done or who they are. Not saying that ALL their cd's are like that....but that Comatose just takes it easier!!!!
