A little while back I talked to Seraph's bassist, Erik, about background info on the band (like how it was formed, stories, etc.). He sent me a link today for the myspace he made for the band (sorry guys, they've broken up now, 1989-1995). And I come bearing gifts! There are pictures!!!!!!!!!! And our one and only John Cooper is in some! Very old, very rare John pics! So go check it out! Oh, and in case you were wondering, John was the singer for this band. That means all the songs posted up on the myspace are him singing! :D I'll post my interview soon.

"Seraph was formed in 1989 by a group of highschool friends. They played several shows around the Mid-South area, including the Mid-South Fair. They were the opening act for such early 90s Christian bands like: Mortal and Guardian. The band dispersed around 1995. Each band member went their own way to start new bands. The most successful of the band's offspring was the Grammy nominated Christian band SKILLET!"

check this out, Erik (the bass player) emailed me this.

So I've been a busy bee lately. I've uploaded 11 new songs to garageband for download. These are all Seraph demos recorded on 4 track cassettes throughout the years, so they sound really rough, but you'll get the main idea of the songs. All in all, it isn't bad for a bunch of high school kids producing these on their own. Remember, this was back in 1990-1993, so there was no such thing as computer recording equipment. It's all Analog baby! John sings most of the songs, but the other lead vocal that you'll here on a few songs was our keyboard player, Matt.
New Garageband link:

Let me know what you think ;-)

Thank you Timmy/Erik. :D

Now if someone would make a Myspace for Alkeme that would be great! :) I've thought about it but I don't know if I'm allowed.

06-26-2007, 02:17 PM
you should ask korey next time you see her.

06-26-2007, 02:17 PM
WOW!!!! John looks SOOOOO diffrent! I bet that when he married Korey, she took him shopping for new clothes!!!!! LOL!!!! I would!

06-26-2007, 02:27 PM
I sort of like his clothes. Not the shorts, but the shirt is okay. And his hair is really, really nice, like the texture of it. So I don't think he looks that bad.

06-26-2007, 05:10 PM
Well.....I like the "new" John better!!!!!! Not that anything was wrong with him then!

06-26-2007, 06:32 PM
think he was a "jock" or something??

06-27-2007, 06:10 AM
He played basketball. I know that much.

06-27-2007, 08:01 PM
wow i super like these songs. even in 1994 john cooper sounded awesome. thanks a much amelia! and thank you timmy for the download link because that was my next thought, where to download... :)

06-29-2007, 05:25 PM
No problem, Heidi :)

As it says on the band's myspace, towards the end of the song "Wild Honey" John plays his trombone!
