I'll miss Bleach. They were your typical "high school band" kinda guys. Relaxed, cool, they really were themselves. They weren't tryin' to fool anybody. And it's obvious they lived their lives for God. Kinda reminded me of a popy version of Jars of Clay or something.
I know there's alot of christina bands in general that we don't like (Plus One, Jump 5, etc. *who ever you don't like personally*), but keep in mind that it's better for those bands to be Christian a models for Christ. Bleach probably reached sinners through their music that a preacher or Skillet couldn't. Know what I'm trying to say?
And as sad as I am to see them go, I know that them leaving is only going to help. How? Well, it will leave room for new bands to come in. So now, hopefully,. more artists and bands will be signed on, and more sinners (or just other christians) attracted more in to the christian music! :)

I don't understand at all what you are saying, korey cooper jr. I don't see how them calling it quits will encourage more bands to sign onto tooth and nail. Maybe I'm missing something?
And Bleach is, nor ever has been, a 'poppy' version of jars of clay. Both bands are extremely different. Bleach sings about everyday life for the most part, while jars of clay has more symbolic, open-to-interpretation lyrics. And bleach, of the two, is much more of a rock band.
Bleach praised God by not only being open, but writing exceptional rock songs. They weren't just a CCM cookie cutter band. In fact, part of the reason why Bleach left Forefront was because they wanted to play in non christian clubs, not just churches. They had a goal (like Skillet) of reaching out to the people who actually NEED reaching out to- be it christians who are struggling, or non christians looking for hope.

Well, theinvaded, don't take me wrong here. I was just saying that it's one of those "out with the old, in with the new" kinda deal, form the way I see it. And I'm sure the members of Bleach has things they want to do. God knows all. I'm sure the band has prayed about this subject.
And don't worry about what I was saying about a "poppy version" of Jars of Clay. Just my perception. So don't get offended or anything, I love both bands (JofC and Bleach). :- I was just speaking my mind.

I agree with CJ, they don't really impress me. It sad their quitting tho. 9 years is a long time to be in a band.

Do we all know why they are breaking up? First it was The Bengamin Gate, then Five Iron Frenzy, and now Bleach. I wonder why they are all breaking up? I know the Bengamin Gate the lead singer got married to Jeremy Camp and Five Iron all I know is that they pray every year to see if they should still be in the music bussiness and they felt like God told them to move on. Now I don't know if Brave Saint Saturn is going to stay a band or not, but this is all I know

they are really nice guys. my fav. cd of theirs was the one with the couch on it. my first time seeing them in concert was when they opened for skillet.
but i respect their decision. they've been around for almost 9 years.
from their press release:
"The strains of a consistently packed touring schedule and the desire to spend more time with family prompted this difficult decision.
"While none of the guys have made definitive plans beyond August, they are confident this is a right decision and have a peace about their individual futures."

It's sad that they're breaking up. They're breaking up for a good reason though. Family. umm Sam I think it was that they said is a new daddy now and they need to focus more on Family.

here are some piics from august 23, 2002 of Sam and his son Journey.

i heard whenever Sam goes to leave, his son would start to cry and scream "Daddy - don't leave!" and he couldn't deal with that anymore. He has to be home with his wife and son.
and milam got married in early january. so i can see where they would want to take a break.

Bleach was an awesome band. Why did they break up?? :'(
theelectric3
09-24-2004, 11:38 AM
different reasons.
Sam (rhythm guitarist) wanted to be home with his wife and son. he also feels the Lord is leading him to a new ministry - reaching out to prositutes and those in a bar. so i'm excited to see what God has for him.
Jared and Milam will be starting a new band.
not sure what Davey is up to...
Jerry and his wife just moved...but i think he mentioned how he is interested in being in a band again.
