So I looked, and i coudln't find a thread on this... if there is one, i'm sorry! :)

but has anyone picked up the "in the name of love" cd yet? it's got 13 U2 songs covered by various Christian artists... Pillar, TobyMac, JOC, Sanctus Real... I'm thinking I'd like to get it, wondered if anyone has heard anything more than the 30 second clips you can hear online.

any thoughts? :)

Not sure, I love U2...Tribute albums are always strange though.

So far none of the clips are thrilling me.

most bona-fide U2 fans hate the CD.

i can't call myself a bona-fide U2 fan, so i'd probably like the album. i imagine Delirious' cover sounds the most authentic.

i don't know. Sanctus Real did a pretty good job on Beautiful Day. it's played all the time on Radio U.

i'm not a huge U2 fan, but i think i want to get this CD. :)

I used to be into U2 big time in the prodigal days. I stopped listening to them the day Bono said in an interview during the Zoo tour when asked why they weren't playing the old standards that the fans want to hear "we have alot of newer stuff we don't need those fans anymore". Tho I think that the tribute cd has a really good cause you all know how I am about secular music. I'm not about to compromise now (and for me personaly it would be a compromise).
