i posted something like this over at AY. since this is home now, i'm relocating it...

many of you know, & many of you don't know, that i work with jr. high at my church. wednesday night we have a small group Bible study where we break up into grades & genders (so 4 groups in all). well, last year i helped lead a group with 2 other guys.

during the summer, both had to stop helping out. (one guy still helps on sundays, wednesdays he has school. the other guy got married so he's spending time with his new wife). so now i have 8th grade guys all to myself. :( not a good thing. there are usally 8 guys there. 8 to 1 isn't a good ratio. i spend about half the time getting them under control & the other half teaching.

if y'all could keep me & the group in your prayers, i'd much appreciate it. :) we really need an adult guy leader to help be an influence on their lives; currently the only guys with jr. high are college age. just one more leader would help out a lot. thank you so much. :)

well, tonight was better. :- one of the leaders from the 7th grade guys group helped me out, leaving his group with only one leader (which isn't that bad considering they are more well-behaved). so i had another leader to help me keep them in line. this is only a temp solution tho. we still need an adult guy to be a father figure to these kids.

i've been getting the feeling tonight that what i really need to do is soak this group in prayer. that i would not go to any function (Sunday morning, Wednesday night, any fun activity) without praying my heart out to God to lead me & to bring us someone to help out. if y'all could help me with that (you don't have to pray before functions, since you don't know when they are. ;) but if ya could just pray like their's no tomorrow, i know God will answer), i know God will move. :)
