I've been looking for a way to download it too, but I haven't been successful in my search. I'll let ya know if anything turns up. It's a spiffy video. I find it realy confusing to. But why not call some of your freinds and ask them.

So this is a really great band! And just to let you know they will release a Live cd/dvd that will be in stores Dec. 5th. And you can hear 3 songs off there on their purevolume page. By the way, you should listen the second part of "Shut Me Out" then you will hear how Kutless witnesses.

Depends on the song. Some are harder than others. Ironically, though, their hardest song is still probably Let You In off Sea of Faces.
And of course Kutless has changed. If they had 3 CDs of the same hard sound over and over, we'd be sick of it by now. Gracious, if anyone should understand the concept of how a band has to grow and change its sound, it should be a Skillet fan! ;)
I love all three CDs of their original stuff. I have to be in the right mood for Strong Tower, though. I don't normally go for the worship music. You'll always get the rawest, scrappiest stuff in the first CD. Their 2nd CD, Sea of Faces, got them decent AC and CHR airplay and, I must admit, hooked me off our local AC radio station. Yet, for the AC-stuff on Sea of Faces like the title track and It's Like Me, there's something else that rocks like Let You In and Passion.
Hearts of the Innocent is slow and pretty in some places (Promise of a Lifetime) and harder in others (Beyond the Surface). In general, it's not as hard as their debut or the harder stuff on Sea of Faces, but that doesn't make it tame, by any means. Hearts of the Innocent is also, to me anyway, the best of the CDs lyrically.

Maybe its just one of those cd's you have to warm up to... but I pre-ordered Hearts of the Innocent and I was really disappointed. I like the Self-Titled best and then I just thought they gradually got worse. I don't know. I like the new lyrics, but it seems like he's stretching almost. Trying to make it fit where it doesn't. But like I said, I may just need to listen to it and get used to it.

i personally think that their first cd is their most unoriginal cd. don't get me wrong, i love the cd to death, but it's nothing really original...sumrall tries hard to copy scott stapp's ERRRR vocals and a couple of the songs are just downright carbon-copies of creed songs with different lyrics. they got more original and formed their own sound with each new cd that they've come out with. with hearts of the innocent, they have their own sound other than trying to sound like creed. i think the cd is amazing

A New Journey for Ryan
After nearly 8 years of playing music together a new journey awaits for both Ryan Shrout and Kutless. Ryan has chosen to leave the band and will be pursuing other interests near his home in Vancouver, WA. We believe that there is a time and season for everything, and we thank Ryan for his dedication to this band and the hard work that he has put into this ministry. We applaud his dedication to his family and God’s calling in his life and we, as Kutless, wish him all the best as he continues to serve our Lord.
Hello Fans and Friends,
After much thought and prayer I have decided to leave my position as guitar player for Kutless. As many of you know my daughter was born on January 12th of this year. What most of you do not know is that she was born with an eye condition called Coloboma. Coloboma is pretty much gaps in some or all of the structures of the eyes. This condition is usually apparent by a keyhole shaped iris. This condition varies in severity. Today’s technology is not advanced enough to fix this condition. The statistics for Coloboma are 1 in 10, 000 children are born with this. In Ella’s case it affects both eyes, the condition goes back pretty severely into the structure of her eyes affecting her optic nerve and retina, so her vision is impaired. However, the level it is affected is still unknown. The Pediatric Ophthalmologist believes that her left eye will be legally blind and is still not sure about her right eye. Needless to say I find that it is more important for me to be around to support my wife and daughter in the unknown journey ahead. Ella’s vision capabilities are going to be a wait and see situation. We have been to the pediatric eye specialist 4 times and continue to have to go quite frequently. This is why I feel God is leading me home, to truly be the best father and husband I can be.
I wanted to write this letter to thank you for your continued love and support for my family and me. I leave the band on good terms with the other guys, and also their support for my wife, baby girl and I. We both wish each other all the success in our future life paths. In my case I really feel like I am fulfilling what God’s will is for my life. As much as I enjoy being out their every night, playing for you, and sharing the gospel I know that if I do not obey God’s will for my life, my ministry will not continue to be as blessed as it has been. This will not be the end of me playing guitar, after I get things figured out at home I hope to be able to get back in the industry somewhere. I know God is still calling me to music, I just feel that right now I need to fulfill my calling as a husband and father. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our heart for all that you have done for us. I hope that I have impacted your life as much as you have made a difference in mine. I have loved every moment I have gotten to play for you and hope it will not be too long before I am out there again. I hope to see you or hear from you soon and I will cherish the memories I have made in these last 8 years forever. You are truly the best fans in the world. If you would like to do something for our family the best thing is just to continue praying for my family and I. We want God’s will to be done in our lives, whether that be a healing or peace for our family.
Thanks, you rock!

But other guys, unless they write the music and whatnot, are easier to let go of. it really depends, there are bands that keep the name when the singer leaves. like Further Seems Forever, they stayed the same when their singer started Dashboard confessional. or Newsboys changed singers once.

Could be.
The Kutless fans seem split lately. The veteran fans want the edginess of the debut CD back. The newer fans seem to like the Kutless that recently toured with Newsboys (more AC-friendly).
I'm interested to see where the band is going musically. Assuming they record some new material instead of having the label continue to milk existing stuff to generate the almighty dollar ::]
That's a nice promotion: guitar tech ---> band member.
Yeah, I'd like to see them do edgier songs again. But they seem to be leaning towards poppy songs.
DarkestRose
05-22-2007, 08:06 AM
I liked their edgier songs too. Kutless was a factor in me getting more serious about God with their song "Run". I remember semi-sleeping in the church van on the way to a youth conference and that song was playing and I could just feel God calling me to not avoid Him, not think about Him only for "churchy" stuff but to let Him have every aspect of my life.
skilletfreak101
05-22-2007, 09:50 AM
i really don't think they've lost their edginess. it's just that sadly their more contemporary songs are what you hear on the radio. but i think as a band, they are still rockers, and that's what they prefer to do. Sumrall even said that when I saw them with newsboys a few months back. he said something like, "Now you should all know that we are a ROCK band and we like to ROCK OUT."
DarkestRose
05-22-2007, 09:55 AM
They should be a rock band then and not a rock band playing contemporary songs. I don't mind that they do worship songs during their sets because Skillet does that sometimes too, but when I saw them, their set got really slow for awhile.
